Classified Ads

People tend to over look classified ads as a valid form of promotion. In many parts of the United States, there are late night television commercials extolling the benefits of classified advertising. People overlook them as a valid form of promotion because the cost is low and there are many other competing ads surrounding your ad. You must treat classified ads as only one part of your promotional arsenal.

Think of it this way. If you can run a classified ad and make only $5 profit from it, you have found an incredible way to make a fortune on the internet. You can choose to run your ads on the internet or in newspapers. If you can write a classified ad that pulls $5 profit, you simply run it in as many locations as possible and make $5 profit from each. Imagine running your ad in 250 locations per day, thats $1250 per day in income. Use the ad to promote your website. Drive traffic to your site and profit from the sales.

For companies on a budget, classified advertising is the least expensive, most effective means of promotion. To illustrate this, lets look at the following example:

Lets say that you have $1000 this quarter to spend on promotion of your business. Which is better? Take out 30 classified ads, or run one larger ad in a newspaper? Those who are savvy in the ways of promotion will know that the 30 classified ads are the better way to go. Everywhere you look, you see advertising for something. Running 30 ads gives you more opportunities to be seen.

The important part of advertising is to be seen many different times. Studies have shown that a potential customer needs to see your advertisement 21 times before they will buy your product or service. With the high cost of advertising in todays society, classified ads are an inexpensive and effective way to advertise your business.

Authors Note: Although it is not my style to promote sites that require paid membership, I do make an exception with one site, The Classified Club. I use their services on a daily basis.
