Cross Promotional Opportunities

One of several ways so succeed on the Internet is in cross promotion. This is a system whereby two or more related websites work together to promote each other. Some examples may be a website offering free web space and a website offering free email addresses teaming up. They would each promote the others services on their own sites and help each site so succeed.

The trouble is that so many people on the Internet are so obsessed with their own success; they forget that the efforts of 2 people are worth far more than the efforts of one. According to J. Paul Getty, the founder of Texaco, the best way to make money is to help a lot of people to become very wealthy without worrying where your wealth will come from. This is when your success will come.

In order to get started in your search for cross promotion opportunities, you must realize that what you are entering into is going to be far more successful than any banner exchange or link trading program you could imagine. You must treat this program with the respect it deserves, or it will be just one more failed attempt at Internet promotion. You are working with another website, helping them to succeed and your success will come.

You must begin by searching the web for a related site. For purposes of this example, we shall assume that you sell plumbing parts (pipes, fittings, etc) You could begin by looking for sites that offer similar products, such as showerheads, water faucets and the luck. You enter into an agreement whereby they promote your pipes and you promote their fixtures. You could expand your cross promotion by including home contractors, and other home improvement sites. Each site works together to promote the other sites in your little network.

There are some efforts on the internet to unite sites of common interests known as web rings. I have experimented with these and had negligible success. I received a couple of visitors per day, which netted me about $1 per day in income. My site may or may not be typical of results, as I have not done a full research study on this topic. Your results may vary.

You will certainly succeed in cross-promotional efforts if you treat the opportunity as an opportunity to succeed.
